Another...

Since my last entry not much has happened. The kidlet and I went to San Antonio for Johnn's graduation. I was so proud! He made honor flight and was voted outstanding airman by his flight :) Now he is in tech school at Kessler. I guess instuctors for his job are in short supply so he's there doing nothing for the next 3 weeks or so. That pisses me off. Hello?! He could be home with me and our son while they make the necessary arrangement. Ugh, whatev. That's about it as far as hubby goes. I'm having issues at work. I HATE my employer. It is seriously run by people with the IQ of a rock. I've decided the job search will start ASAP. My boss' boss gave his notice last week because he found another job. When I see managers jumping ship, it's apparant I should probably follow. So keep things crossed that I can find something that I am qualified to do, that I'll enjoy and that will pay me well.
Also a little entertainment on this slow Thursday. If you were a Palin, what would your name be? Wonder no more. My name would be Still Hardrock. What would yours be?

Mini-update

I heard from H this past weekend :D I guess week 3 is like a preliminary physical (which he passed) but the final is on the 5th week, so next week for H. This week he's off at warrior week and H sounded very excited about it. We basically just talked about missing each other and what I needed to bring for him, etc. I can't wait to see him but am nervous at the same time. I stress over everything so I'm really stressed about the trip out, the trip itself and the return trip. I mean I'll be carting my kid, his stroller, his diaper bag, his car seat and my bag. I've decided to take our big stroller so I can at least shove his diaper bag under it so that's 1 less thing I have to carry. Also it's easier to fold and maneuver than the umbrella stroller. Ugh. I'm trying to be positive and thinking I need to relax as I haven't been on a vacation in over 2 years. I know things may not work out perfectly (as they rarely do) but I don't want to automatically think this is going to be a rough trip. I guess I will see. On my front I got picked for jury duty… Yeah, so I get to go 2 days a week for the next 4 months. I don't like the fact that I will have to serve for so long (actually I kind of loathe the fact that it's for 4 months), but I think this will be an interesting experience and I will get to know some interesting people. It will break up the monotony in my life. I guess that's it. Until next time...

Update!

So here it is the 4th week of no hubby :( I got a letter from him telling be all about what had happened so far. So I will update you all as well. Basically zero week was hell and it sucked. He also "failed" his physical assessment, but in his letter he told me he did like 26 of 50 sit up's, etc. In my opinion he did the median amount of the each exercise. I also got a call last Sunday (the 10th) and I was SO happy! He sounded so much better than the first call and he told me how excited he was because he was allowed to have some candy during this call/ break. He also told me he likes his TI that he's "cool" and how he's going to have to do more push-ups and such than other trainees in his flight since he did "poorly" on the physical. Again I think he didn't do to bad. But whatev, my opinion doesn't count. I know he'll know by the end of this week if he passes the final physical then it's "warrior week", which I am sure H is excited about. It sounds like that is right up his alley :) I'm sure I will get a letter from him telling me how cool it was. So basically I'm just waiting for everything to be finalized (knowing H's grad date, etc) so I can book my stuff to go there. I'm hoping someone from his family will be able to go to. Unfortunately his mom can't go :( But his grandma might! I know it will mean a lot to H if his family is there (besides me and the baby of course). So we will see and I'll keep everyone updated.

It's been over a week now that H has been gone. I miss him a lot. I am really shocked at how immediate my missing him was. I thought I'd at least have a few days where I'd enjoy hogging the bed to myself but I didn't. I did get to talk to him briefly on Sunday (at 4:30 am my time) so he could give me his address. I could tell in his voice he 1. missed the baby and I and 2. was probably thinking WTH did I get myself into! I read an article about basic training. I felt like a bad person because I laughed. The article is written in a comical way, but I know H is actually going through this so I feel bad that I found it funny :\ So if you have time read all 4 parts (under more on this feature section). Part 1 is basically the "what you'll need" but 2-4 go over what an air force trainee will go through. I found the parts that described a T.I's "favorite games" to be funny, again until I remembered my hubby is actually having to "play" these "games". Yikes! I posted the link below. Any who that's all for now :)

So ronery!

H leaves tomorrow for 6 1/2 long weeks away in rainy, humid Texas… Technically last night was our last night together since tonight he will be staying at a hotel then tomorrow at about 4am he will be up and off to MPPS (or what ever the acronym is!) then off to the airport. It sucks since I really didn't get any alone time with the hubby. Yes I get he wants to see his friends and vice-versa, but I will miss him the most! I wanted just a few hours to just be together :( Waa! I'm trying to be positive. I mean I *might* get to see him when he graduates Basic, but of course this all depends on our $ situation. Whether we fly or drive, it will be expensive, especially after you factor in hotel costs. Boo. Also H doesn't get leave after Basic, so basically Aidan and I only get to see him for the weekend because he has to report for his tech school on Monday. Then his training lasts about 5 months. I hope we get a place we want for his station…and that our condo sells ASAP! Since we can't put it up for sale until June of this upcoming year, then I have to wait until someone buys it. Ugh. That could be a LONG time away from H. Well just hope for the best for us please! TIA.

The calendar is NOT my friend

I can't believe in a week I will be a single mom. H leaves the 29th and I am not ready. I will get to see him mid-September, but then he will be gone for about 5 months at tech school, then we will be moving. When I think of it like that I semi-panic. I mean, yes I am excited to move to a new place, but at the same time scared to leave the familiar. What if we get stationed somewhere cold. I hate cold weather! What if we get stationed over-seas? I will have to learn a new language. Hello I'm just getting to understand H when he speaks Spanish! My panic has become so bad that I've even contemplated me just staying here for a few months after we get H's station… Is that so bad? I mean we can't sell the condo until June of this upcoming year and with the way the market is we won't really make any money, etc, etc. But I would love to get a house somewhere nicer. I don't know. I'm just really unsure of things. I don't think H realizes how much I feel like I'm sacrificing for him to do this. Yes, I realize he will be going through a hard time in basic and then when he's training being separated from Aidan and I. But he only has to worry about himself. As where I have to worry about bills and Aidan and work and everything else. I'm freaking out!

Also I am also PO'd at friends and family. Well my mom understands since she is the product of a military family and was married to a military man. But my friends and Johnn's family don't get it. His family keeps asking what I'm going to do while Johnn is gone. What the hell do you think I'm going to do?! I'm going to do the same thing I'm doing now. Work and well work! The only thing that will be different is I will be going to bed without the hubby. My friends are pissing me off because whenever the subject of Johnn being gone comes up they say "we will hang out!". Yeah. Right. Because we hang out so much now. It'll be even harder when I don't have anyone to watch Aidan so I can get out of the house. I just know I will be lonely and sad :*( I wish things would have worked out to where the condo was rented out and I could quit my job and move up north to my mom's. We went up there this past weekend because my cousin was in town from Texas visiting (he's in the AF). It was so nice. Aidan and I played outside in the grass, slid down my little bro and sis's treehouse slide. All things you can not do in the 110+ degree weather in the valley. I wish we could have stayed at least another day :(

Well I only meant for this to be a tiny quick thing, but I guess I needed to get a lot out ;p So if you made it through the whole thing you deserve a cookie!

I should find the time...

To blog. But yeah, that doesn't always happen. Well not much is new. Aidan will be 1 in a few weeks. Johnn will be leaving in a few weeks and I'm still dealing with crap from my accident. The HOA lady is a bitch! I seriously don't know what her issue is, but people like her need to have their ass kicked by karma. She is meanest person I have ever come in contact with. But I digress. I really shouldn't be stressing as much as I am, but I can't help it. It just seems like everything happens at once and it sucks. Ugh… Hopefully everything will work out and I can finally have my BP return to normal! So please keep us in your thought and prayers that the accident/HOA crap gets resolved with me having to shell out $$ and that H gets through Basic with ease and that I'm able to handle it all on my own. Thanks!

Where has the time gone!

I haven't had an opportunity to write. Busy, busy, busy. Well not much to say. Hubby leaves July 29th, I was in a hit and run accident (I will find the bastard who did it!), and Aidan can clap and wave hi and bye. He's so smart! Any who I'l try to pop on more and write. Bye for now!

Miracles and the Power of Prayer

I'd love to go into detail, but it's not really my story to tell. All you need to know is prayer really DOES work and miracles really DO happen. I cried finding that out today. I wish nothing but the best to my friend and her miracle and I will be keeping your family in my prayers.

Speaking of kids growing up so fast...

Aidan crawled for the first time last night!! Ack! I was so excited and proud! Then I realized that he had probably done it at the sitters :( But she was nice enough to tell me he hadn't crawled a lot. She said he would crawl a few steps then lay down. I know he probably was crawling around. Oh well. I'm just excited that he's doing it! My baby is growing up :*( Off to the store today to get baby gates and outlet covers.

My Little Man

I really can't believe how big he's getting, he will be 8 months old next week. The other day I was looking back at pictures of him and can't believe how little he used to be. He was so long and thin! Not the case now. He's still tall but he's become a little butterball! He's also getting quite the personality. He reminds me of my little sister. Aidan is actually pretty quiet...When he's not playing that is. He loves to growl and have you growl back at him and he absolutely LOVES monkeys! We went to the zoo a few weekends ago and went to the gift shop for a souvenir. As soon as he saw the stuffed monkeys and he gave his big toothy grin! So he got a monkey. I think my favorite thing is when he smiles. He opens his mouth really wide to revealing his teeth and his chubby checks push up to make his eyes squinty. He's freaking adorable if I do say so myself! I'll have to post a picture when I get a chance.
Aidan's newest skill is scooting. He's still working on crawling. But he'll scoot over to our coffee table and try to stand up. He usually can get to his knees before I move him away to safe toys. I swear that boy is already trying to give me a heart attack! Before I know it he'll be leaping off of furniture! Now those will be entertaining posts! I just can't believe my little boy is growing up. I'll have to give him an extra squeeze when I see him after work today so in a few months when he's running around I can remind myself he was little once. I miss my baby :(
